The Happy Gut Bug

I’ve always thought that the ‘calories-in-calories-out’ theory of weight loss was inadequate, if not just plain wrong, and I do get excited whenever I find research such as this that calls that simplistic notion into question. The idea of calorie counting ignores the fact that it matters much more where calories come from. A great many people are in serious trouble due to this misunderstanding.

So when your IBS flares up, a joint aches or lethargy sets in, you might blame the stressful life you lead, the genes you inherited or perhaps even your weight. Not that these aren’t relevant, but you could also ask yourself if what you’ve been eating recently is likely to have caused beneficial microbes to flourish. Or have you been creating a proliferation of endotoxins? In other words, how happy are your good gut bugs?
